Colomitos Beach: the smallest and most charming beach in Puerto Vallarta.
In the southern zone of Puerto Vallarta, you can find some of the best beaches of this destination: Mismaloya, Boca de Tomatlan, Colomitos, Las Caletas, Las Animas, Quimixto, Majahuitas and Yelapa among the most important ones. In this occasion, we will talk about one of the most charming beaches of Puerto Vallarta, Colomitos Beach, an icon place of this destination.
It is located relatively close to Boca de Tomatlan, only 5 minutes away by water cab or if you prefer to walk, it’s a 30-minute-walk at the most. It all depends on the speed with which you follow the path that goes along the coast until you find this iconic beach. It is without a doubt one of my favorite hiking routes, the route starts when you cross the Horcones river that crosses Boca de Tomatlan, after the beach, you find the route that takes you without fail to the smallest and most beautiful beach of not only Puerto Vallarta but probably of the country.
This hiking route is highly recommended by AllTours4UPuertoVallarta because you do many things at the same time, you practice hiking, you can contemplate nature, breathe fresh air and with a little luck you may encounter different wild animals along the way, iguanas, foxes, raccoons, skunks, crabs, small reptiles, just to name a few species of wildlife that in the latter case is not a concern, these animals are already used to visitors and tend not to feel invaded. On the other hand, you will also have the opportunity to contemplate the vegetation of the area, here you will find a unique ecosystem of palm trees, Ficus, and frangipani, among other species that belong to the flora of the Pacific coast, we warn you that you’ll even have time to free your mind while taking this great tour and in which you do not need to be an expert or a great athlete to enjoy it, it is common to find entire families on this trail with children and adults alike enjoying the route.
Colomitos Beach is found descending from the side of the mountain and you are surprised by this tropical oasis, a small white sand beach with clear waters, sometimes with transparent emerald green waves and other turquoise blue colors as if it were the Caribbean, is bordered by rocky areas that look like natural sculptures and back covered by a lush green tropical jungle, in the center of this area descends a small waterfall that gives the final touch to this masterpiece of nature.
At Colomitos Beach you can swim, kayak, snorkel, scuba dive, or just sunbathe and relax.
If you don’t want to leave from Boca de Tomatlan to explore this beautiful area, you can also go from Mismaloya Beach, from the pier of Playa de Los Muertos or from Marina Vallarta where you will always find a water cab or otherwise and your best option is that the AllTours4UPuertoVallarta team will take care of making the best tour depending on your needs and the experience you want to live.
